the Pot Still Micro-Commissions
Closing date 29th May 2026
We are inviting applications from Moray-based artists for three new commissioned opportunities responding to the ongoing redevelopment of the historic Gordon Arms Hotel in Elgin.
The Pot Still Micro-Commission Programme offers artists the opportunity to develop new work that reflects on the history, heritage, transformation, and future use of the building and/or its people, understood in the widest sense and interpreted openly within the context of this specific commissioning programme.
Artists will be supported to develop work that meaningfully extends their existing practice rather than responding through a predefined brief.
This commissioning programme takes place in advance of the building’s opening in 2028, supporting the development of new work over 2026. For all programme info and details on how to apply please access this document.

Our first ever...MINI RAVERS!
Saturday 15th August 1.30-3.30pm
With little Marla joining the MADE crew in 2024, we have become aware that provision for parents and wee ones can be sporadic - or more regularly ready on weekday mornings. Also - how cool would it be to have a wee Saturday dance with your kiddos and be back home in time for supper without impacting the bed time routine?
That's why we have come together with Dave Martin of Big Fat Electric Disco and Elgin Town Hall for the Community to bring you our first ever...MINI RAVERS!
Big beats for little feet aged 0-4 and their adults. An afternoon of tunes from Big Fat Electric Disco with dancing, lights and bubbles. Refreshments available onsite in quieter café area outside of main dance floor.

Cuppa & Chat Sessions
Monday 24th August 2026
Informal 1-hour slots can be used however you choose. It might be you’d like an opportunity to talk over an ambition have, such as getting a community project off the ground or selling work. Alternatively, we can explore advice relating to funding applications, structuring your offer and/or sharing more about what’s going on locally. Aside from this, if you simply want to connect with others working in the arts sector and want to widen your network, it would be great to meet you and hear more about your practice..

Open Studio
Blocks of delivery throughout 2026
One to one support in a variety of art forms, creative open studio provides an opportunity for young people to gain skills across photography, music, digital production and art. Delivered in blocks of six sessions on Friday afternoons in Elgin, spaces are available for referrals for those aged 25 and under that would benefit from learning something new, increasing confidence and meeting new people. We are keen to talk with services including social work, education and third sector if this sounds of benefit to any young people you are currently supporting. Drop us an email to find out more.
Supported through funding from Youth Arts Open Fund.

Attendance at quarterly meetings is necessary, face to face if possible (usually on a Sunday afternoon with lunch!). This roles involves advising on strategy, fundraising, operations and development of the organisation as well as commenting on and provoking discussion around issues from governance to programming.
We are particularly keen to engage those with experience across business development, finance and legal. Expressions of interest can be sent via email at any time, with an attached CV:

Young People
We know from experience how hard it can be to gain experience in the creative industries. Please get in touch if we can help you in anyway.
This year, for the first time, we have our own Mentee, student Archie Gee from Elgin Academy. Archie is being mentored by MADE for a year and fulfilled a paid internship with our friends at Out of the Darkness Theatre Company in the Summer, thanks to the Career Ready Programme.
MADE are committed to supporting local interest and talent, so if you are an individual, organisation or initiative that thinks we can support you - let us know.

Facilitation
Stacey Toner, Creative Director of M:ADE, is an accredited LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® (LSP) Facilitator, trained by Michael Fearne, author of 'The LSP Method'. Based on a set of fundamental beliefs about leadership and organisational running, the LSP Method allows people to be part of 'big' conversations and take ownership of ideas through workshops focused on team building, visioning, solving problems and/or strategic planning. This approach to workshopping enables teams to 'lean in' to discussions, which results in more meaningful engagement, active participation/sharing, and strengthened peer dynamics. Sessions are based on the concept of 'hand knowledge', where 'doing' helps facilitate thinking and communication. If you think this approach could be of use to your group or organisation, please email an outline of your needs and we will get back to you about how we might be able to help.

Collaboration
M:ADE is always open to collaboration with artists, community groups, education, organisations and businesses where our core values align.
If you would like to explore what this might look like, please just drop us a line to discuss. This might take the form of:
- Partnership projects
- Project facilitation
- Individual support i.e. funding applications
- Research
- Consultation
- Networking
- Conferences and events
- Signposting
